This is one of the few MP3 programs I've found that actually works. CDex is a freeware application which is able to record audio tracks from a CD-ROM, and save those files to disk in either regular WAV file format or MP3 file format. The ISO-MP3 compression algorithm is built in, so no Windows Codec is necessary. Furthermore, WAV files can be converted to MP3 files with CDex. Clean, simple interface shows you the tracks on the audio CD, you just select the ones you want to convert to MP3 or WAV format. What is an MP3 file? It is a compressed audio file of near-CD quality. You can record your favorite songs from your CDs and store them on your hard drive in about 4MB of space, and play them when you want without having to find and insert the CD!
